The Horze Defender fly sheet protects your horse from summer's insects from neck to tail. A belly flap adds extra protection on the stomach. Elastic between body and neck provides comfort. The neck piece can be fastened with hook-and-loop closure, and offers the option to attach a fly mask. High gussets do not restrict your horse's freedom of movement. Front buckles, belly surcingles and tail flap keeps the sheet in place.

If you are planning to order this for your gelding, just know that you may have to get the belly band shortened. I was warned by my friend who has this fly sheet for her pony mare before I ordered this, so I did size down, but the belly band still seemed like my gelding would end up urinating into it. It is currently at a friend's getting adjusted, hopefully she can make it short enough without compromising the third belly strap!

I have finally found a fly sheet that fits! It has so much adjustability that you can get an almost perfect fit for any horse. I will purchase this fly mask every year if available. My 2 year old has only put one very small hole in it compared to a fly sheet I paid double for that got a huge hole in less time. The zebra print definitely works to keep flies off and it's so breathable. My horse begs for me to put it on.

I have bought this fly sheet before and I am about to buy again. My little mare has sweet itch. This fly sheet works, and even works to keep flies away from horses standing next to her. Way cheaper, easier, and less chemicals than fly sprays. Zebras have got the fly problem figured out. There used to be a whole bunch of other reviews saying how good these blankets are, but they seem to have upgraded the review system and in the process all the other reviews got wiped. Do your horse a favour, and get this particular blanket. It's lightweight, comfortable (especially with the stretchable neck connection), tough, and dries fast if it rains.

My mare is allergic to flies and chemical fly spray, and let’s be honest, herbal-based sprays are short-acting. This is the answer! The black and white zebra stripes effectively confuse flies — and they avoid my horse altogether. This “zebra pattern” was recommended by our equine vet, and she was right! The full-coverage, well-placed gussets, and spandex connection between neck and body, all allow my horse freedom of movement. She is turned out all day in our field, and I never have to worry about a twisted or torn sheet, or my mare being uncomfortable. I added a zebra-print fly mask too. My mare is comfortable, bite and chemical free, and happy! — And that means everything to me.

Measuring For a Horse
Blanket

Have your horse stand still (if possible!) on flat, level ground.

Measure from the center of your horse's chest
around the shoulder at the widest part, to the center of the tail. This measurement is easiest to obtain with a soft fabric measuring
tape.

This measurement - in inches - is your blanket size.
