Chick's Exclusive Oilskin Duster!

This Chick's Exclusive slicker features rugged cotton oilskin fabric that is waterproof and perfect for harsh weather conditions. Patterned in the classic Duster style of the West that is great for riding, ranch work, and more! Made of 100% cotton and specially infused twice with an oil/wax formula to ensure these dusters are waterproof and will help keep you protected from rain, wind, and snow.

It also features the traditionally styled front-to-back cape (not removeable), snap front closure with snap-over storm flap. The neck can stand up and be closed over with the storm flap tab to keep the weather out! It has a cotton inner lining, Over-sized top entry patch pockets on the front and a deep inside pouch pocket. Adjustable snap cuffs at the wrist also help keep the weather out, a rear snap gusset allows for coverage over the back of the saddle. Inner leg straps keep the jacket in place and keep it from blowing up and off your legs.

Care and Cleaning: As with all oilskin products, DO NOT machine wash! Do not use detergents or soaps as this will destroy the oil/wax waterproofing. Brush off excess dirt or mud. Hand wash in cold water only. Hang to dry in well ventilated area. DO NOT hang in direct sunlight. Do not place in dryer or apply heat in any form. Commercial cleaning agents can be used that are specifically for Oilskin products, but may require re-proofing the coat after it has been cleaned.

When not in use, store (dry)coat by rolling it up. Do not store it away in direct sunlight.

What just happened? It is absolutely amazing. It even smells amazing. Looking at the picture of the model, I thought I saw sunlight peering through and thought it might be too thin, but thought "what the heck, for this price?!" It is not thin. It is sturdy. If you're looking for a duster, you're a nutball for not getting this. If you're looking for a trench coat... change your mind. Very, very pleased.

I’ve wanted a duster for a while so that I can more effectively ride in the rain, so when I saw the sale price and the reviews, I jumped on it. I haven’t had a chance to test its rain-proofing but it overall has nice weight and feel. I’m happy with the price for the quality. The snaps aren’t super strong (as stated in description) but I have arthritis in my hands so being able to actually snap it up is good. My only real ‘criticism’ is that the loops that hold the shoulder flaps down are a bit large for those who are going to be riding with the jacket on (they seem like they would be easy to catch a saddle horn in if you were to get in a predicament), but it could easily fixed with a 2 safety pins. For the price, I’m not complaining.

I bought the manufactured 2nds because it is a period piece for never gonna ride saddle. Rode for a living out west for a decade. This slicker is the real deal. For 10 dollars more You get sturdier snaps. Spend it if Your gonna use it a lot. Either way, don't pass this one up.

The snaps are weak, but I have the tools to replace them so, good deal for me. The quality of the Duster is very good. Quite heavy. I believe it will last me a long time.
