THis has been a game changer. My horse suffers every summer from flies attacking his sheath. Then he kicks himself until swollen and bloody. The last few years I have been using a contraption I made with a full body harness, a mesh bag for him to pee through and a belly wrap. This year I tried the mares only fly coat. It is perfect. It covers his penis and he can pee right through the coat. I wash the coat every other day and it washes up perfect. I went back and bought 2 more so now I have 3 so they are always in circulation and he is doing great with no fly irritation.

I was looking specifically for fly sheets for draft horses and found this one. It is shaped more for a regular horse than a draft, but it still is a huge improvement over everything else we've tried. The belly flap is great for mares! Could use a little more room in the neck and chest area and a little less in the butt, but again, she is pretty darn pleased with her new fly sheet, it works great, and it looks pretty spiffy as well! A great buy!

My mare is super sensitive to flies and they love to attack her belly and udder area. I just on a whim googled "fly sheets for mares" to see if someone made something specifically to protect the udder area. I wasn't surprised that something didn't officially exist, but stumbled upon this manufacturers slip-up, which turned out to be a "happy accident" for a lot of itchy mares this summer! The price can not be beat! I ordered one, and even though mine did not include the free fly mask (I have several of my own anyway) I and my mare are thrilled with this fly sheet! Lass can roll and run and buck and her sheet stays in place. I watch her grazing and her tail barely swishes! She stays cool in it too. She's very happy now and so am I!

We ordered 3 of the rugged ride fly sheet combos for our paint mares. Knowing your size is vital on these items. They do run a little big, so having purchased the winter turnout blankets gave us an advantage in making this order. I would have given a 5 star, as the blanket and neck give great protection, but the fly mask with attachment to the neck piece is weak. Our mare broke the attachment in 48 hours. The mask was then easy for her to rub off. I would also recommend not putting these on horses that are kept behind barbed wire. The sheet will snag and tear on the barbs.

I bought this because the flies get really bad here in Texas and I didn't want my horse to have to be swatting all the time even with spray on. So I thought what do I have to lose with them at this price. I bought it and I love it. I have never had one with full belly wrap and she is a happy horse. I would highly recommend this fly sheet!

There is no wither protection on this fly sheet and the exposed heavy-duty seam rubbed the mane off the base of my mare's neck. I caught it in time before it broke skin and it would have. I am surprised that no one has experienced this problem. Now I know exactly why blankets/sheets come with wither protection.

I ordered two of these fly sheets for my two thoroughbred mares(78”). I ordered a hot pink, and purple. Upon arrival, I tried them on to see if they were going to fit. Although the belly band is a little more set back, it fit perfectly! The last fly sheet I ordered from smartpak did not fit their neck, and I was afraid the same would happen. These fly sheets have plenty of room for their neck and are long enough so when they put their head down, it doesn’t strangle them. And let me tell you, the hot pink one is bright enough to see from a mile or 2 away. The fly mask tops it off. Highly recommend!

Have your horse stand still (if possible!) on flat, level ground.
Measure from the center of your horse's chest around the shoulder at the widest part, to the center of the tail. This measurement is easiest to obtain with a soft fabric measuring tape.
This measurement - in inches - is your blanket size.
