This correctional mouthpiece features a ported design that collapses onto the outer lip and bars while rotating onto the tongue. The port, although narrow and low, allows room for the horse's tongue to pass under the bit. when the reins are engaged and the mouthpiece rotates onto the tongue, it applies two concentrated points of pressure on the tongue for quick control. Because this port only 1 1/4" high, it will apply little to no palate pressure. Sweet iron mouthpiece oxidizes and encourages salivation.
