Herbal Fly Collar For Horses. A natural way to give your horse significant relief from warm-weather pests. Comfortable secured, it keeps releasing its natural aroma, even when wet, for at least 3 weeks. A pleasurable alternative to irritating short-lived sprays and other topical applications. By Alzoo Equine.
Over time, the active ingredients migrate over the animal's body, forming an evaporative 'halo' of protection around the horse and rider. Active ingredients include Melaleuca alternifolia leaf oil, lavandin oil, and geraniol. All are natural herbal essential oils.
A unique fly control device. Effective against flies, mosquitos, horseflies, gadflies, and midges.
Directions:
1. Position collar around the horse’s neck, close to the head.
2. Adjust the collar length and secure it both two-piece plastic screw-clips. Do not overtighten.
3. Trim excess collar length.
Tip:
Save the excess collar length to hang near the horse in a stall or place it in their tail for extra protection.

We will continue to buy the herbal neck bands as part of each horses fly control routine. They are easy to put on. The snaps are replaced by zip ties which hold tightly to keep band on. We have noticed a major decrease of flies around the face with the neck bands too. Horses still wear fly masks and get sprayed with herbal fly spray. Chick's has the best price on these bands.

I really like these collars. While I'm not sure about claims of eventual whole body coverage, they are effective in the head/neck/shoulder areas. The little screw-type attachments are not 100% reliable but I added a zip tie which solved the problem. Recommend!

I bought one feeling a little optimistic. Wondering if it was really going to work. Well let me tell you, it works!! My gelding is a huge baby when it comes to flies. He stall is open all day so he has access to go in and out as he pleases to keep away from weather and bugs. He would go in a lot to stay away from the flies. (I also have fly trap bags around the farm) I put one of these on him and he is outside 90 percent of the day now! I do change it every 30 days. It works exactly like it says it does. I will forever buy these. I and he absolutely love them. It will break away easily if your horse gets caught up on something also.

Our spring has taken a hiatus since I put the collars in place. I’ll be able to say more after this week. However, I will say they are not big enough for the larger breeds. Can’t even get the ends to meet around their necks. I would add another 6”.

I have these set right over the poll & it keeps the flies off their faces. Doesn't do much for the rest of the body, and not great for mosquitoes but worth it since my kill pen rescue mare is terrified of fly masks. The clips work to keep them on well.

Collars may work but I had to wire them together. I PARTIALLY recommend it because the fly repellant works but the connecters don't quite work like the video shows. At best they need to be longer to penetrate the 2 layers of the actual material that is the collar itself.

It helps but not a whole lot and especially if you have any itchy horse that rubs its neck a lot. It stayed on for 2 days before he got it off. That's the max I've been able to keep it on him tho when it's on, it seems to keep most of the bugs away from his face but not legs, back & belly.
