Shires Airflow Turnout Fly Boots - Set of 4

The Velcro on these fly boots is no joke. They’d been on my large pony for about a week successfully before I took them off to remove dirt and hair the first time, and I STILL had to work to undo the Velcro. They’ve worked great for several weeks. I’m amazed she’s kept them on so well, since she tends to quickly escape and lose any fly gear I put on her. Very breathable, and the pony size fit her well. They eventually scrunch down somewhat, but not bad at all, and the extra layer of nylon on the strip at the back acts like boning to help retain its shape. A hole developed at the bottom of one of them due to pasture antics, but it doesn’t seem to diminish their effectiveness. I’ll be recommending them for all horses at my barn when they’re due for new sets.

I liked that these come in a set of four with shorter front boots and longer back boots. I bought them because my horse has scars on both hind fetlocks, probably from tangling with a fence. The soft fleece on these boots don't irritate the scars like the previous boots I bought with nylon webbing. The reason I'm not giving five stars is the stitching on a couple of the velcro tabs gave out after less than a week and I had to restitch them.

These boots are great for my horse. She’s allergic to bug bites and these boots keep the bugs off her legs. They stay up and are durable.

Ever since I started using these, it really seems to keep the flies off his legs. I don’t really even see flies on the boots. They stay on and upright for days at a time. I haven’t found one out in the pasture yet!

Our horses are out 24/7 on pasture and these are the best fly boots I've found so far. I've used them for a few years and they stand up to all the pressures the best, and they stay on and up. They are not indestructible, but they last.

So far so good with these fly boots. They go on easy and do their job at an affordable price.
