Product Details

Quality Hand Forged and Finished Steel!

  • Mouthpiece - 5" slow-twisted bars with correction port and copper rollers.
  • Port Height - 3 ¼".
  • Port Width - 1".
  • Shank Style - Long S Shank.
  • Shank Length - 8 ½".
  • Finish - Hand-forged steel.
  • Bit Severity/Feel - Firm, refined; suited to experienced hands.
  • Use - Rate, lift, straightness, and collection for broke horses.

The Long S cheek gives a smooth, rolling signal with progressive leverage—clean pickup, clear release, and a balanced feel in the hand. It helps maintain rate and lift while keeping cues soft, readable, and consistent without becoming heavy.

The mouthpiece combines slow-twisted bars with a correction port and copper rollers at the port. The slow twist provides definition on the bars without the bite of a fast twist. The correction port allows each side to move independently for precise lateral cues and vertical lift, while the copper rollers encourage salivation and a quieter mouth, helping horses stay soft as you shape rate, straightness, and collection.

Showman® Premium Bits
