Shock Absorbing!

Garment quality shearling is placed under the saddle pressure points and over the withers with a micro-cellular pommel piece for comfort and slippage prevention. The under panels are padded with UltraShock, Professional’s Choice signature shock-absorbent material, that is perforated to allow maximum breathability. The cut has a generous rise for the withers, an open spine and is slightly oversized for shrinkage.

100% cotton top and bottom. Machine wash, hang dry.

While this is not the thickest sheepskin, it is exactly what I was looking for. My saddle fits quite well and I have a thick sheepskin 1/2 pad that I could use if needed, but I wanted a thinner sheepskin saddle pad and this is perfect for my needs. Definitely not worth the higher price, but at $79.99 it is the perfect pad for me. Just wish black was available.

Surprisingly firm padding under the shearling. I have two other brands of the half fleece lined pads for schooling and show, and was excited for this one as a ‘luxury splurge’ for the show season. It is so dense and without give that it was not a good fit with my custom saddle, and I can’t imagine it would feel good to the horse. There is nothing luxurious about it. Thank goodness for chick’s discount pricing, since this pad went straight into my donate pile after one use. I am surprised that Steffen Peters allows his name on it.
