It’s been awhile since I purchased a Horze brand blanket, but my past experiences were good. They say with horses if you buy expensive you cry once, but if you buy cheap you cry every day. Horze brand, now Equinavia, has never made me cry, not even once. The products don’t last forever, but they are perfectly functional for a couple of years or more, depending on how heavily they are used. I am pleased with this turnout sheet. It kept her dry through a downpour already and the tag is still on! Since my mare is a bit chonky, I bought a size larger, but I think it wasn’t necessary. It seems to have a generous fit and true to size for a stocky horse. I love the adjustable neck, the chest clips, and the extra large tail flap. Normally, I don’t use tail straps, but this one fits low and loose, and won’t interfere with the horse at all. I’m also happy with the color. Green is not a color I would normally choose, but this shade is a natural muted color and it looks great. I’m going to buy a second blanket for my gelding and he wears purple.

Measuring For a Horse Blanket

Have your horse stand still (if possible!) on flat, level ground.

Measure from the center of your horse's chest around the shoulder at the widest part, to the center of the tail. This measurement is easiest to obtain with a soft fabric measuring tape.

This measurement - in inches - is your blanket size.
