Product Details

Redesigned For Improved Stability, Security And Comfort!

Exclusively Chick's! Durable rip resistant mesh boots that protect the legs from biting/flying insects and also provide protection from the sun's harmful rays. Velcro closures make them easy to put on and take off. Though they are contoured to your horse's leg shape for less bulk, they are flexible and won't impede your horse's movement. Many bright colors to choose from that will make it easy to spot your horse in the pasture!

Sold in Pairs.

ADJUSTING FOR PROPER FIT:

Start at the middle and secure the velcro straps from top to bottom.

Return to the strap in the middle (ankle area) and insure it is snug but does not interfere with movement. Ensure that the middle strap is snug enough so that the circumference of the strap is smaller than the horses ankle.

Re-check the top two straps to insure they cannot slide down over the fetlock area. SEE GRAPHIC.

If the velcro adjustments are too loose at the top, the boots may slide down causing the horse to walk on them, which in turn may damage the boot.

My horse had cellulitis and I could not keep the flies off of his fetlock sores. This product did the trick. They stayed up and fit extremely well. I have used way more expensive boots in the past. They either fall down or are uncomfortable for the horses and they shred them. This was a quality product at a good price. Don't hesitate. I will say, if you have hoof flares or your horse is shod full (shoes sick out beyond the hoof wall) they will fray where they cover the hoof if the hooves rub together ... BUT it does not effect the boots effectiveness since horses cannot feel flies walking on the hoof capsule.

These run a little large for my half Arab mare, but stay up and are well made!

These boots are hardy and stay up well. I leave them in my mare nearly year round and usually get at least two years out of them, even though she wears shoes which you’d think would tear them up more. These have worked the best over other brands.

Used it as a fly barrier and protection for a hoof wound heal. Worked amazingly well, secure fasteners and durable materials. Material is soft and easy on the hair and skin, highly recommended.

These Contoured Bright & Bold Fly Boots are fantastic! The rip-resistant mesh is tough yet breathable, holding up really well even with my horse’s constant stomping. I love the bold, bright colors—they’re easy to spot in the field and look great. The contoured fit stays in place without slipping or rotating, and they’ve really helped cut down on flies bothering my horse’s legs. Great quality and super functional—definitely recommend!

Bought the cob size for my arabian horse. They are a great fit and the velcro is really good. I found these better quality than cashew. Not sure how long they will last, but so far no issues.

These boots work really well for my 30 yr old QH. She wears these 24/7 spring, summer & fall here in FL. I find they stay put & don't slip down as long as they are tight enough. She doesn't try to put them off so I change them every other day to hose them off & replace them with a clean pair. They dry quickly too. I love all the bright colors! They totally keep the flies off since we are prone to summer sores. I have tried many brands & the rugged ride still works the best for us.

Rugged Ride Mesh Fly Boot Review

Overall I like the boots. However, there is one improvement I'd suggest to be made to the boots, and that's adding more loop side of the velcro closure. She has spindly legs, so not a lot of girth to them and I was unable to properly tighten the straps as there was not enough loop velcro. The boots fit my mare lengthwise, but in order for them to be properly fit and snug around her legs I had to add more loop velcro in order for the width of the boots to fit her. I'd recommend this product as the price is right and you can chose the length of the boots, and get them in fun colors. Plus, not everyone will have a spindly legged horse, and if you do, you may need to add more loop velcro.

If your horse is a Houdini and gets out of their gear, these will prevent that! For well, easy in and they clean up with a hose.

For the price, these boots work. The sizing chart was a little confusing, but I got the correct size. I got these to help keep flies off of a coronet band injury and they are perfect for that! It's right on the front and with the elastic, it keeps it covers but doesn't rub and it's healing! My guy broke one of the boots pretty quick, but I think it was because I put it on a little too loose and he stepped on it with his other foot. He also destroyed his fly mask the next day, so idk if maybe he was just itchy and rubbing on things. It's okay, because I still have 1 on the injury and it's holding up. I'd recommend them.

We purchase these for two of our horses this year and are very pleased with these boots- fit well, stay on, and do a great job at protecting our horses legs from flies. Can you please make a dark purple boot instead of just lavender?? Tx

I purchased a set of 2 of these for my horses and I love them. They come up high on the leg and fit snug. They are easy to put on and they stay on. I have purchased others that I would find out in the pasture and didn’t stay on. I would buy them again.

We have a 32” mini and these boots were too small. I’m not a pony expert, this pony is our first. We have her as a companion to our quarter horses. I will return and try for a different size or product.
